J. Austin Lyons is counsel in the Trusts and Estates practice at Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz.

He received a B.A. cum laude from Dartmouth College in 1979.  Mr. Lyons completed a J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law in 1990 and an LL.M. from New York University School of Law in 2007.

He is a member of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York and the New York State and American Bar Associations.
