Sara J. Lewis joined Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz as an associate in the Corporate Department in 2010.  She focuses primarily on mergers and acquisitions, private equity transactions and takeover defenses and proxy contests.  Ms. Lewis has been involved in a broad range of negotiated and hostile acquisitions in the United States and abroad, advising both public and private companies and bidders as well as targets.  Her practice has also included general corporate and securities matters, including capital market transactions, spin-offs and joint ventures.

Ms. Lewis received a B.A. summa cum laude from Saint Louis University in 2006 where she graduated Phi Beta Kappa. She earned a J.D. summa cum laude from Stanford Law School in 2009 where she was elected to the Order of the Coif.  Ms. Lewis served as articles editor for the Stanford Law Review and member editor for the Stanford Law and Policy Review.  After graduating from law school, she clerked for the Honorable J. Harvie Wilkinson III of the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.
