Elliott V. Stein, Of Counsel at Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz, focuses on securities law matters and mergers and acquisitions in the Corporate Department. He has represented numerous public and private corporations from diverse industries throughout the United States and overseas. Mr. Stein’s practice includes acquisitions, spin-offs, divestitures and financing transactions, as well as takeover defense and corporate governance issues. He was a faculty member in ALI-ABA’s Continuing Legal Education program in Corporate Mergers and Acquisitions from 1997 to 2010, and co-chair of the program from 2005 to 2010.

Mr. Stein joined the firm in 1983 and became a partner in 1989.  He received both a bachelor’s degree and a doctorate from Princeton University in 1971 and 1975, respectively, and was awarded his J.D. magna cum laude from Harvard Law School in 1983.
